Something we should celebrate regularly.

In this photo here, you see THE AMAZING group of women I have the pleasure of spending time with every other Monday. Unfortunately, I was not able to attend this particular class as it was my son’s birthday and well, he is only going to turn 11 once! I am going to try to explain to the best of my abilities what they did this night and I really hope I get close to being right.

In this photo here, you see some pages with just flowers on them. They used these flowers for a flower gazing meditation. They put the sheet in front of them and stared into to it. Relaxing their bodies, clearing their minds and forgetting about their worries. Putting all of their troubles into a suitcase and wheeling it out the door for the 2 hours they are there to do art.
This is a modified version to a meditation that we do regularly at class. Do you meditate? Do you think it would be hard to? It really is easy, if you are looking for more information, you can read more on it and get the history from this WIKI.
After meditation, the got their paper and drawing, coloring, painting media of choice and sat down to start. First, they drew a heart shape on the paper. Then they use the pictures of the flowers they had and drew their interpretations of those flowers inside the hearts.
Once the flowers were drawn into the hearts, they could use any media they chose to color those in.
These hearts are flower gazing meditation hearts. Something to focus on other than your day whether it be good or bad. What flowers would you choose for your heart?
Every flower, just like every breath is a miracle. No two flowers are exactly alike. Just the same as no two people are exactly alike. There is beauty in every petal, stem and leaf.
When was the last time you stopped as you were going about your day to look at a flower and study every detail of its being?
How about we get outside this week and look at some flowers. Study them, smell them and take notice the miracle of nature.
Like Tammy said,
“Miracles happen every day. These are everyday miracles – like the birth of a child or the rise of the sun and there are incidental miracles such as the redemption from a negative outcome or any phenomenon of the highest unlikelihood. We often fixate on the potential for negative outcomes. But what if we fixated on the potential of a positive outcome instead? What if we expected and anticipated miracles in general? What would be the value gained? What would be the value lost? Is there any? Positive thoughts are proven to induce relaxation and a healthier sense of wellbeing. Negative thoughts, in contrast, induce fear, anxiety and sadness. Push yourself to focus on the positive and anticipate a miracle every day. Celebrate the everyday miracles you see as well. Every breath is a miracle in its self.”
I can’t wait to see all of the additional artwork you all do this week. When you do, try out some meditation and see how it makes you feel. Hopefully you will see the benefits and continue!
Happy Journaling!
P.S. –All of these meditation hearts look AMAZING! I can’t wait to do mine 🙂
