Exploring Change Through Art: The Beauty of Flowers and Butterflies

IMG_5193[1]

So a big part of the motivation behind Art Journal Therapy is an art class that I participate in with an amazing, inspiring group of women. Tonight we focused on change and what change for the positive our life challenge has brought about. With permission from this great group of women, I present to you our works. Hopefully, they will all chime in and claim their work and maybe provide a little insight into how they chose their favorite flower and the butterfly they identified with the most.

For me as you see my work above, my favorite flower is the ranunculus. In a previous class we had to copy a famous wallpaper and draw it as we interpret it. This flower was in the image and has become my most favorite flower to draw as it is super easy and every imperfection is perfection in nature. My butterfly is just a butterfly that is similar to the famous Monarch butterfly but like every one of us is different, unique and beautiful.

I present to you Art Therapy…

Our Wonderful and talented instructor Tammy sketched this out to help us understand what our task was. Even her quick sketches are beautiful!
