I have a passion for art and design. I recently started back to school to get a degree in Graphic Design. Out of the classes I have had so far, the drawing class was my favorite! I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2016 which I beat and then was re-diagnosed again in 2023. Through all of this, I have rekindled my passion to be creative and do as much learning and art as possible. This site is for anyone who is struggling with ANYTHING and looking for a little inspiration to keep going. A little art and creativity everyday can go a long way when it comes to our emotional happiness and I would love to help you to see the benefits I see when I get to create. Here, I had to do a self portrait in 3/4 face, a task I had never done before. The initial sketch up top was to give the instructor an idea of what I was going to do and for her reference as this was an online college class. The photo below is the final drawing I had turned in showing me in an environment I would like to see myself in which at the time was outside learning about astrophotography.

My skills are a work in progress but I am very happy with the result. I could be hard on myself and say how the shading and features do not all line up nor are the proportions exact. Instead, I am very proud of this as I got out of my comfort zone and just DID IT. I showed up, did the work and had a ton of fun in the process! I encourage all of you out there reading this today to do the same. Nice to meet you all!
