So an interesting thing I thought about today. What if I were to put a challenge out there for you all to decipher on your own? In Art Class today, I brought in some embossed cardstock. Everyone was able to choose a few to use in their project tonight. So, my challenge to you is to emboss a piece of your own cardstock and use it to make a card, or in art of some sort and post it here on the blog cuz of course I want to see all of the cool stuff you have all made!!

Now how I did it was to use a Cricut Cuttlebug which I have had for years but I haven’t used. You can get them on Craigslist and Ebay for pretty cheap or Michaels and Joanns for regular price, then you just need embossing folders which you can also find in those two locations or you can buy them from Michaels or Joanns as well.
If you are not quite sure you want to fork out the dough for that then you can always do it by hand using a simple stencil and a bone folder or a small rounded tip from anything that has a small rounded tip lol. You do this by laying the stencil down first then applying the cardstock over it and then applying pressure in the areas where the stencil is open. In doing this, you are creating a negative. When you are done, you flip it over and you then have the positive raised image. I might post a video on this soon.
If you still are not thinking you are going to be able to do it and want one of the embossed pieces of cardstock I made, I can mail one to you np. Just email me at [socalgrlsjournalin at gmail dot com] and send me .75 to paypal to cover shipping. I can send you that info if that is the way you want to go.
Now go do a meditation and get artsy! I look forward to seeing what everyone is going to do!
Thanks Marilyn! Haven’t seen you in a while. Miss you and hope you are doing well!
