How to Craft a Journal Using Cereal Boxes

img_51191Boxes that is. Did you know you can make an art journal out of pretty much anything? It’s true! Cereal boxes are pretty sturdy and can hold up to quite a bit of abuse and finagling. Here, I just cut out the front and back and fold them in half after I have painted them and done my decorations. The cover is made with a smaller box and all I did was cut off one of the sides since the front, back and one side make a nice cover type shape. To give it the crinkly texture, I took some brown paper towels like you would find in a store bathroom and glued them on scrunching and pinching as I went until I was happy. For the inserts, I used scrapbook paper on one side and acrylic paint on the other.

I highly encourage you all to try this as it is simple and reuses some items that would otherwise find their new home to be a landfill. Happy crafting!!
